Mutual Aid

FOOD PANTRY

We distribute fresh produce Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:30am. If you'd like to volunteer, or have a car and can help do pick-ups, please get in touch.

SUNDAY DINNERS

We have hosted Sunday dinners just about every week since May 2014. Volunteers sign up to cook in advance, and others help with serving and cleaning up.

Bringing food and drinks to share, including appetizers, desserts, and home-made items is always welcome. Sunday Dinner is a great opportunity to see the space, learn about ongoing projects, and find out how to get involved. $7 donation to reimburse the chefs for ingredients. No one turned away for lack of funds.

NYC MESH

Woodbine has joined the NYC Mesh network at our new space! We've installed antennas on our roof for both receiving and broadcasting signal to the surrounding neighborhood, and those who live nearby should now be able to access free internet.

NYC Mesh is a community wifi project that provides unfiltered neutral internet through a series of rooftop antennas. It offers independent access to the internet without having to pay, rely on, or be surveilled by companies like Verizon, Spectrum, and Optimum. We will host a workshop soon for those who wish to learn more, so we can connect more buildings and expand this network throughout Ridgewood and New York City.

SEED LIBRARY

Woodbine has started a seed library, open to all. We are building a collection of vegetable, fruit, herb, and flower seeds, which you can view here.

To access the library, please get in touch to make an appointment. We have empty seed envelopes, and you can take what you need. We are also accepting seed donations to continue to grow our library. And if anyone has any questions about gardening in the city, let us know.
